A thin wash-primer foundation for prepared metal

PROTECT 340 is a wash primer based on PVC epoxy resin, with anti-corrosion pigments containing zinc, aluminium and phosphorus oxides. It is intended for transport vehicles, machinery and equipment, with prepared steel, galvanised steel and aluminium listed as suitable substrates.

Choose it when a thin, adhesion-promoting corrosion-protection layer is needed before the specified primer system. Used with H5910, it forms a dry layer of 5–10 micrometres per coat. At 20°C, the technical sheet permits an acrylic primer after 15 minutes for a 10-micrometre dry film.

Before you specify: Use with H5910 at the specified 1:1 volume ratio. Do not apply polyester putty, epoxy primer or acrylic basecoat directly over it. Follow the stated metal preparation and overcoating requirements.

Ratios refer to the named base and hardener. Volume and weight proportions are different measurements. Thinner percentages and additions must follow the basis in the linked TDS; do not treat them as an interchangeable mixing ratio.

TDS headline calls this one-component wash primer but mixing table explicitly requires H5910. Preserve exact mixing instruction; no polyester putty, epoxy primer or acrylic basecoat directly over wash primer.
