Waterborne temporary protection during fabrication
PROTECT 372 is a waterborne primer for temporary corrosion protection during bodywork and fabrication. It is intended for mechanically cleaned steel bodies and components used in transport, machinery and equipment. The manufacturer specifies protection for up to six months, provided coated parts are sheltered from direct precipitation.
Choose it to protect prepared components while work continues, with welding and spot welding possible without removing the coating after the required drying period. Supplied ready for spraying, it has a stated VOC content of 24 g/l and can subsequently receive NOVOL epoxy or acrylic products.
Before you specify: Temporary protection only: do not expose coated parts to direct precipitation. Welding and spot welding are recommended after 72 hours. At 20°C, allow 72 hours before overcoating a 50-micrometre film; protect the stored product from frost.
